10 DAYS UGANDA GORILLA SAFARIS MURCHISON FALL, KIBALE, QUEEN ELIZABETH SAFARI, BWINDI NATIONAL PARK


Day 1 – Kampala-Murchison falls National Park
Meet, greet and get briefed about the tour. Drive to Murchison Falls national park located in the north western part of Uganda. This drive takes you through the past war zone of the Luweero Triangle. Have a stop over at Masindi for lunch and later take a drive to the top of Murchison falls at the Bakers summit to marvel at the Spectacular Nile squeezing its wave of rapids through the narrow cleft of Western Rift Valley. Dinner and Overnight at Paraa Safari Lodge/Sambiya River Lodge

Day 2 Murchison Falls National park tour
After an early breakfast embark on a morning game viewing on the northern banks of the Nile. This area is endowed by a wide range of flora and fauna species. On the game drive expect seeing a number of animals which include Elephants, Giraffes, the Uganda Kob, Hartebeests, Buffaloes, Oribis, Leopards and other game. Return to the Lodge for a lunch and later proceed to the river for a launch cruise to the bottom of the falls. On the cruise you can see a number of aquatic animals can also be seen which include the Nile Crocodiles, waterbuck and a host of water birds. In the evening you can go for an evening game viewing or relax at the lodge.  Dinner and overnight at Paraa Safari Lodge/ Sambiya River Lodge

Day 3 Murchison Falls-Kibale National park
After breakfast, depart from Murchison Falls for Fort Portal, a beautiful towns overlooking the Rwenzoris-the highest mountain in Uganda. this scenic drive is long but filled with a number of interesting features which include beautiful landscapes, local plantations and homesteads. We shall have a picnic enroute picnic lunch, before arriving in Fort portal late evening. Dinner and overnight at the Ndali Lodge/Fort Motel/Mountains of the Moon Hotel

Day 4 – Kibale Forest National park
After an early breakfast, proceed to the Kibale forest for Chimpanzee tracking. During the search of these great closest man’s ancestors, different other animals can be seen. These include the L’hoestes monkeys, red colobus monkeys, the blues, red tailed monkeys and gray-cheeked Mangabeys. Tree identification is also interesting given that the forest has unique tree specie such as the Naked Adam and Eve. The local guide will provide you with detailed explanations on primates, the forest fauna and the flora. The walk is both informative and enjoyable. Time permitting, have an afternoon informative and enjoyable walk to Bigodi Swamp, a haven for bird watchers. Retire in the evening. Day 5 Fortportal-Semiliki National park
From Fortportal you will take an excursion to Semliki national park, am eastern extension of the Ituri vast forest in western Uganda. This forest is one of the richest areas for both flora and fauna in Africa.  You will take a nature walk trough this jungle forest from which you may see primates, a number of birds as well as some mammals. You will also visit the beautifull hot springs from where you can boil food especially eggs in the natural boiler within ten minutes and enjoy it. Late afternoon you will return to Fort portal town for overnight accommodation. Dinner and Overnight at Ndali Lodge/Fort Motel/Mountains of the Moon Hotel

Day 6 Kibale Forest-Queen Elizabeth National park
After breakfast drive to Queen Elizabeth National park.  You will enter the park while viewing the mystical Rwenzori Mountain range. With a game drive en-route you may see different animals which include the comical warthogs, lions, leopards, buffaloes, elephants, hyenas and a variety of antelope species. After lunch, proceed to Kazinga Channel for a launch cruise. On the cruise different animals can be seen drinking water along the shores. These include hippos, elephants, buffaloes as well as water birds. Dinner and Overnight at Mweya Safari Lodge

Day 7– Queen Elizabeth National park
Have an early morning game drive to the Ishasha region for a hunt of the Climbing lions which always cling on Old fig trees waiting for their prey. A wonderful drive through a diverse eco-system of grassy plains, tropical forest, rivers, swamps, lakes and volcanic craters is quite an awesome event you should not miss. Have lunch and later visit the local community salt works at Lake Katwe. Relax in the evening. Dinner and Overnight at Mweya Safari Lodge

DAY 8– Queen Elizabeth NP - Bwindi Impenetrable NP
After breakfast, depart for Bwindi Impenetrable Forest passing either via Ishasha, the home of the tree climbing lion, or take the alternative route through cultivated expanses. This will depend on the road situation. Explore the village and the native communities if time permitting. As you drive to the ‘Switzerland of Africa’ an area known as the Kigezi Highlands with its terraced hillside and winding roads to Bwindi. Overnight at Buhoma Homestead

Day 9 –Gorilla Safaris:Bwindi Impenetrable NP
After an early breakfast, proceed to the impenetrable forest for gorilla tracking. This tropical Afro montane moist forest is spectacular. It offers habitat to the endangered mountain gorillas. While tracking different other animals can be seen. These include the rare golden monkey, buffaloes, elephants, black-fronted duikers, bushbucks, leopards, giant forest hogs among others. Remember tracking the fascinating gorillas in Bwindi is an experience which often takes most of the day. However after meeting these great apes you are allowed to stay with them for only one hour. Overnight at Buhoma Homestead

Day 10 – Kampala and Departure
After breakfast start for Kampala. Have en route lunch at Mbarara and then continue for Kampala passing via the Equator.
