Introduction
The Park is located in Karamoja district in the borders of Sudan in northern Uganda. It was declared as a park in 1960 during the time of Milton Obotte and it covers a total area of 1442 sq km. Due to the fact that the park has a harbor in relation to scenery and this has not been seen in any of the parks in Uganda there fore that gives is credit when compared to other parks.
Within the park are different species of birds on record and not found in any other park in Uganda (ostrich and kori bustard). In the park are elephants, zebra, giraffe, and huge herds of buffalo, warthog, duiker, hartebeest, lion, leopard and cheetah. Through game drives you will be offered to see almost majority of the animals but even before set off for the game drives other animals are just moving a round almost closer to the visitors.
But there is no way one can be convinced that road transport is possible because it can even take one a whole day and on top of that there place itself is insecure. There fore it is a advisable to use a charter flight

Miles and miles away from the noise and dust of the city, Kidepo Valley National Park is a completely different world. Big skies, vast plains, inspiring views from every vantage point…and wildlife everywhere you look. Kidepo offers breathtaking open savannah which is surrounded by spectacular mountain landscape no where to be seen in Africa!

The park is home to elephant, zebra, giraffe, huge herds of buffalo, warthog, duiker, hartebeest, lion, leopard, cheetah and hundreds of bird species. A game drive around Narus valley offers visitors chance to see the highest concentration of Buffalo, and Elephants. Other animals that may be seen roaming around include: Jackal, Zebra, Roan Antelope, waterbuck, warthogs, Jackson’s Hartebeest, Eland, Oribi, Cheetah, Leopard, Klipspringer, Lion etc.
The park boosts of being the highest concentration of birds endemic to Uganda like: Ostrich, Kori bustard, vultures, pygmy falcon, hornbills, eagles etc.

And this wonderful park is now home to Uganda’s newest safari lodge, Apoka.
Traditional Bandas are also available for budget travellers but they should bring in their own foods and drinks to be planned by your Tour operator during your stay at the park.
The park is accessible by road or air. However, because of the Karimojong warriors who usually ambush vehicles on the way; it is advisable to reach the park by chattered Aircraft. We shall advise you when to pay a visit to the Park by road when the situation is fine.
We know Kidepo, the language, geography and convenient time to pay a visit. To cut off costs, we prefer an organized group of between 10- 30 PAX. As a result, we have fixed our departures on the LAST Friday of every end of the month and RETURN on Sunday.
Special organized groups/individuals will be given attention if they do want to visit the park any time.

Day 1: guided walk
We shall make arrangements of the flight from Entebbe Airport at 4:00 pm. It is a one hour flight to the park then have refreshments and go for guided walks. These walk will enable you catch up with the next days activities. Through these guided walks you will be able to appreciate the scenery of he beautiful mountains as well as the conducive environment.
After the guided walks the guide will the direct you to any accommodation of your choice in Apaka where you will have dinner and an overnight.

Day 2: Morning game drives.
Here what you will take in the morning will be refreshments to make you feel like you in a new environment with relaxed minds. Then head for the game drives at exactly 8:00 am. The driver guide will take you to the south western part of the park ( Narus valley) where you will be able to one of the rugged Napore-Nyagea mountain ranges. You will also enjoy the scenery of the Lokayot hills, range marks of Morungole. Animals like lions zebras elephants, giraffe, Eland, Oribi, Cheetah and many more as well as bird species likes the famous hamerkop are seen while on the game drives.
After game drives you will be taken back for lunch. After lunch you will be taken to pay visits to the Karimojong homesteads and their kraals to see and relate their traditional customs, spears headdresses, jewellery, arrows, bows and many more. Then return to place of accommodation for dinner and over night stay.

Day 3:
Break fast will be served early in the morning so that you can see the reaction of the early morning sun with the earth. Then take a drive to the seasonal River see some he birds like Hamerkop, fish eagle, yellow Warbler, Shoe bill, Papyrus Gonolek and others. Also visit he mysterious Rock “KidI Rwoti”, see other animals like lions zebras elephants, giraffe, Eland, Oribi. Then return for lunch as you will be preparing to board flight to Entebbe.
